Humble Beginings

River of Life Fellowship Church began in the year 2000 under the leadership of Don Benedict. Pastor Don continued faithfully in the ministry as pastor of the church until his retirement in 2025. During his transition to retirement the church called Matt Walsworth to be their pastor. In June 2025 Matt and his family moved from West Virginia to Shelby, Michigan to begin serving the church as their pastor.

Meet the Elders

Matt Walsworth

Matt and his wife, Kelsey, have been a part of River of Life Fellowship Church since June 2025. Matt began his pastor ministry in 2017 as a youth intern in West Virginia and was serving as Youth/Associate Pastor when he received the call to be Pastor of River of Life Fellowship. His hearts desire is for members of River of Life Fellowship to grow in their knowledge and understanding of who God is, deepen their relationships with one another and their savior, and have a heart to reach the lost with the gospel.

Kelsey homeschools their 5 children on a small farm with a variety of animals.
